Note: Overkill was also the name of a Decepticon cassette originally released in 1987.

Notes: DiC's Overkill was fully robotic and had his 1992 design, with a rocket launcher like that of 1991's B.A.T.s. In Valor vs. Venom, he most resembled the first 2003 version, but tinted more green than blue.

OVERKILL began as an experimental prototype for the third generation of B.A.T.s, but because of his advanced micro-computers and enhanced tactical logic programs, the cost projections were too high for profitable mass-production. He might have continued to gather dust on a shelf in the Cobra research labs if COBRA COMMANDER hadn't decided to utilize him as a battlefield commander for the android troopers. It was Cobra Commander's idea to add a voice synthesizer program to repeat demoralizing slogans at deafening volumes. Overkill's primary job is to operate the destructive Cobra Earthquake battle vehicle.
Toy Notes: Item #6754. To remove the backpack, unscrew the pack's outer screws. The screws attaching the pack to the figure are inside, along with the batteries.

Being the leader of an entire unit of android troopers comes quite naturally to OVER KILL since more than fifty percent of his body has been replaced by mechanical parts. He is also equipped with integral body armor, a self-contained breathing unit, and a wireless modem implanted in his brain. His vision has been enhanced with image intensifiers and infrared scanners. A targeting computer is hard wired between his right eye and his trigger finger.
Having command of a small army of mindless robots has affected his mind, making him overly sentimental and protective of his troops. OVER KILL sees them as individuals and gives them secret names, picking out some for special attention. This is why he has a grudge against TUNNEL RAT, who in the course of a sabotage mission poured sand into the supply of 30 weight motor oil for the B.A.T.s, effectively disabling more than half the unit.
"Of course I have feelings. They may be enhanced digitally, but they are still feelings!"

OVER KILL is only half-human to begin with (over 50% of his body has been replaced by mechanical parts), so he has little humanity left to bother him. This means that he truly enjoys performing evil missions and doesn't have any twinges of conscience getting in the way. What feelings he had left were digitally tweaked to not interfere with his duties as the battle commander of the COBRA B.A.T. legions. OVER KILL has been upgraded mechanically over the years. His internal targeting computer is now directly linked to a GPS (Global Positioning Satellite) system for increased accuracy. The armor over vital components and organs has been reinforced and his sweat glands have been modified so he no longer smells like a wet sheepdog at fifty meters.
"I am not simply programmed to destroy the G.I. JOE Team. I personally want to shut them down and guarantee they never return!"
