Notes: Madawaska (misspelled Madawask on the filecard) is a predominantly French-speaking town just across the St. John River from the Canadian town of Edmundston, and is the northernmost whole town in the 48 contiguous states.

By my count, Avalanche was discernible in 28 panels in 3 issues from Feb. 1988 to Apr. 1989: #68, 81, and SM 20. He was killed with most of Battle Force 2000 in #113.

When Avalanche came of age, he declined joining his family's business (poaching, smuggling, legging) and opted for the U.S. Army instead. Having spent most of his youth in the woods with a rifle, he was quite well prepared for certain rigors of military life and totally unprepared for the discipline.
"As part of a survival exercise, Avalanche and twenty other trainees were left in the wilds with a knife and a compass apiece. Most of the others staggered in haggard and worn after a week. They found Avalanche a month later and two hundred miles away, lounging in a motel and spending the money he had made from the furs he brought in..."
Variations: Some copies had a grey knife on the leg, while others had silver.
Toy Notes: The release of BF2000 single cards was not as widespread as the later two-packs. Item #6501.
