A Crimson Guard agent steals a new nitrogen-based fuel and, pursued by the Joes, stashes it in a greenhouse only to be arrested by the overprotective owner of the property. Cobra is unable to retrieve the gas, and combined with the gardener's homemade growth spray, it causes his plants to grow to enormous size. The plants' unpredictable behavior causes chaos at the county fair, alerting the Joes and drawing Destro's attention. Destro returns to Cobra with a giant bean as evidence of the plants' destructive potential. Initially dismissive, Cobra Commander is persuaded to support Destro's giant plant scheme when the discarded bean grows into a huge beanstalk that damages Cobra's base.
The Crimson Twins begin seeding Chicago with giant plants and the Joe Team is called in. They fight for time as Airtight works to develop a counter-formula that will return the plants to their normal size. The Joes are outmatched until Airtight arrives with his formula and eliminates the threat of Cobra's new weapon. Returning to the county fair, the Joes find the gardener claiming credit for the team's victory. Appalled, Airtight disguises himself as a giant cob of corn to put the man in his place.
