Christopher R. Groen (American with Dutch surname) of Helena, AR. Helena (pop. 15,012), recently combined with West Helena on the Mississippi River, is best known for being occupied by the Union Army during the Civil War.

This prompted the cadre to run through the exercise a second time to see how Tracker performed. This time, the commander employed SPIRIT and SNAKE EYES as the quarry. Tracker ran them into the ground in less than twelve hours, which is a pretty remarkable feat considering that no one had ever been able to pick up their trail before. "Sometimes the bad guys get smart and think they can throw us off the scent by cutting across a swamp or going up a stream. Whenever the trail seemsto stop at a body of water, we just call Tracker to take it from that point. He just pumps up his covert insertion raft and paddles away until the track shows up on dry land again. It's almost as if he can see footprints on the surface of the water!" Toy Notes: Item #6593. Daniel W. Price (American with Welsh surname) of Elizabeth, NJ. Elizabeth (pop. 126,179), just south of Newark in the New York City area, was the state's first capital and is the site of the Port Newark-Elizabeth Marine Terminal. It was also the one-time home of several of the nation's founders, including Alexander Hamilton, as well as inventor Thomas Edison. Other Joes from the state are Clutch of Asbury Park, Countdown of Plainfield, and Mutt of Iselin.

But if that robot's tracks get stuck or the sludge pump backs up, Clean-Sweep is the one who has to slog out into the toxic waste pool and duck Cobra laser blasts while he's trying to get it going again." David F. Kunitz (American with German surname) of Three Mile Island, PA. Three Mile Island, in the Susquehanna River ten miles northeast of Harrisburg, was the site of the famous nuclear power plant accident. There is no indigenous population. The other Pennsylvania Joes are Windmill of Allentown, Sideswipe of Philadelphia, and Depth Charge and Steeler of Pittsburgh.

Vincent A. D'Alleva (American-born with Italian surname) of Newton, MA. Newton (pop. 83,829) is a residential village-based suburb of Boston. It is a relatively crime-free community and the namesake of the Fig Newton. Wide Scope is also from Newton. Barbecue, Blocker, and Col. Courage come from Boston itself, and others from the area are Cross Hair, both Docs, Side Track, and Space Shot. Note: Vinnie D'Alleva was a Hasbro representative and G. I. Joe designer.

While demonstrating the efficiency of a toxic waste containment area outside the plant, the scaffolding collapsed and he fell into the sludge below. The accident left him horribly disfigured. "More ruthless and despicable than before, Cesspool is convinced that environmentalists were responsible for his accident and is determined to make the world as ugly and nasty as he is. Armed with an acid assisting chain saw, he's taken his knowledge of high-level dirty dealings and corporate subterfuge straight to the organization that will make the best use of him—COBRA!" "The last thing you want is to get hit with a full load of weapons-grade sludge travelling at high velocity. Even if you're sporting an armored, solvent-resistant, hostile environment suit, this stuff will still knock you down and commence to dissolve you. Your only defense against the Sludge Viper is to try to hit his sludge gun, hopefully splattering him with his own sludge because the stuff is just as dangerous to HIM as it is to US!"
