These troopers are the top of the food chain and can flourish in the uninhabited wastelands of any region. The sole survivor of a suspicious accident in the Simpson Deset that claimed his entire family, this anti-social youth grew up to be the perfect candidate for the COBRA corps. Coincidentaly, it was years later as a RANGE-VIPER that he was the only survivor of a long range recon team that went into the rugged desert and disappeared without a trace. He actually enjoys being posted in remote locations, left to his own devices, and lying in wait to take out a G.I. JOE patrol. He was chosen by SKULLBUSTER, the Range-Viper Commander, to return to the Australian Outback for Operation: Flaming M.O.T.H. because of his knowledge of the area and his apparently uncanny knack for survival. He grudgingly accepts the aid of one of COBRA COMMANDER's top FLAK-VIPERs, but no one is counting on them both making it back. "No one enters my territory and leaves alive!" Dwayne A. Felix (American with Latin surname) of New York City, NY. NYC, on I-95 at the SE corner of NY, is the largest city in the US (pop. 8,214,426). Backblast, Big Brawler, and Zap are also said to be from NYC with no further specification. Also from various parts of the city are Bushido, Crossfire, Heavy Metal, Nunchuk, and Tunnel Rat.

Being gifted with abnormally rapid reflexes and extraordinary hand/eye coordination, he quickly mastered every known video game in existence. By the time he graduated from college, Rampart realized there was only one line of work best suited to challenge his abilities—the military. He enlisted in the Navy, specializing in air defense artillery, and in no time, attained the highest combat success ratio in the 7th Fleet for "splashing" enemy aircraft. "Proficiency in most video games depends upon one's ability to quickly analyze shifts in the spatial movement of images, and to react to such changes faster than anybody else. The same is true in destroying incoming enemy missiles. Rampart gets his jollies seeing a Cobra heat-seeker explode just before it hits the target. Stephen A. Ferreira (American with Portuguese/Galician surname) of Providence, RI At the mouth of the Providence River, the city is the capital and largest city (pop. 175,255) in RI. Ace, Dee-Jay, Dogfight, Ice Cream Soldier, Skystriker, and Major Storm also come from Providence. Hasbro's headquarters is in the suburb of Pawtucket; thus 17 Joes come from this state. Note: The 2008 filecard spells the first name Stephan.

This makes him exactly the type of person needed to negotiate with psychopaths and fanatics who have an axe to grind with society. Of course, that same steely coolness also comes in handy when he is forced to take decisive action that requires an accurate and lethal delivery of firepower! BULLHORN's primary function is to resolve high-risk situations with a minimum loss of life, injury, or property damage, by neutralizing threats that are a clear and present danger. He is usually able to defuse a situation through verbal communication, but even with a completely unreasonable target he is often able to finesse them enough to let their guard down—just long enough for a sharpshooter or assault team to disarm the threat. On the flip side, he gets completely wild behind the wheel of his assigned S.W.A.T. vehicle, a necessity if he wants to get to the area of operations before the shooting starts. But, what good are negotiation skills against an adversary that does not reason, but is programmed? "They say talk is cheap, but I can make it worth your life!" When he was eighteen, Pathfinder enlisted in the Army and began a career as a jungle recon specialist. Almost immediately, he became the Army's premiere jungle/rain forest tactical assault expert. Pathfinder was then ordered to serve as G.I. Joe's jungle assault specialist where he is now responsible for all covert operations involving attacks on Cobra Island. "We could be chest-deep in a midnight swamp, with mosquitos in our ears, leeches in our boots, and Cobra NIGHT-VIPERS firing up our tails with tracers, but as long as Pathfinder has the point, we'll come out smelling like roses. He learned everything from his father, a decorated reconnaissance grunt from the Korean War. Like his father, he doesn't know the meaning of the word surrender. When Pathfinder leads a jungle patrol he doesn't stop until the job is successfully completed and all objectives have been accomplished. And I mean ALL objectives!" Ever since his childhood days in Key West, he's always had a fascination with being able to "rough it" in the wild. When he was only 9 years old, he spent a week alone in the everglades, just to prove that he could do it. His only worry wasn't the alligators, but the mosquitoes. Pathfinder can't stand bugs. After joining the G.I. Joe Team, he spent over 10 years learning how to overcome whatever Mother Nature dished out. His ability to survive in dense jungles, barren tundras, and sand-swept deserts is uncanny. When the G.I. Joe team deployed the A.W.E. Striker vehicle there was only one choice for its driver . . . Pathfinder. It was as if the vehicle was made just for him. Like him, the A.W.E. Striker never quits. That's probably why this man and machine combination is such a good match!
